Presentation Abstract |
About the Program:
|
"Horse Training at Work: The
Similarities of Horse Training and Organizational Change
Management"
Horse Training and Organizational Change Management? These
topics may seem very different at first, but in fact are
very much alike. This presentation outlines those
similarities in a thought-provoking and entertaining
way. Clear examples will also illustrate that the strategies
used in horse training can be used effectively in business.
As leaders involved in implementing changes, Project
Managers will better understand their roles as change
leaders and will be able to apply the same strategies at
work to help ensure successful change, regardless of company
or industry. To reinforce your learning, a free copy
of the book by Jeffrey M. Hiatt titled, "How to Implement
Successful Change in Our Personal Lives and Professional
Careers" will be provided to each attendee, along with a
handout from Prosci Research that outlines the points within
the project management process (as documented in the PMBOK®)
that involve organizational change management.

About
the Speaker |
|
Season Tanner is the employee of a
Fortune 500 company in Bloomington. This presentation is the
result of observations at work
where Season began to see some very interesting similarities
between her work with horses (a passion
outside of
work) and her role as a change leader on projects
at
work. Season's authority for this presentation comes from
experience—having applied this theory at work for 8+ years
(in various roles) with great success and visible
results. She has also been a "student of the horse" since
childhood, has completed an undergraduate program in Equine
Science, and most important, has been working with and
training horses for more than a decade. She lives with her
husband and two daughters, five horses, and dog outside of
Goodfield, IL on the original Tanner's Orchard farmstead. |
